Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI)
About REDI
In April 2021, Wood County’s first ever Economic Development Plan was unanimously approved by the County Board. The plan provides a framework for economic development activity and priorities in Wood County.
Now in the implementation phase, the plan guides the work of six teams who are committed to seeing the goals through to completion.

Process Acknowledgements
Work on the REDI plan began in 2019 as a collaborative effort between County Staff, County Board Supervisors, and numerous community organization representatives. Many of the initial team members continue to work on REDI implementation today. The plan was unanimously approved by the Wood County Board in early April 2021.
The REDI effort was funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development and supported by Purdue University’s Center for Regional Development & Extension Community Development and economic development specialists at the UW-Madison Division of Extension.
